Warblin’ Wednesdays: David Bowie

Or Ziggy Stardust, whatever you prefer calling the androgynous wonder that is Bowie. Did you know his eyes are two different colors? Crazy awesome.

Anyway, for this week’s installment of WW (coming just under the wire as it often does), I present a well-known, but often misnamed, ballad about a fellow drifting along. Ladies and Gentlemen, Space Oddity:

Lagniappe tracks this week: Under Pressure (ignore the video, or don’t, but the audio quality was good:) and the classic (made famous to my generation by Nirvana) Man who Sold the World.

For an extra special treat, check out Mick Jagger and Bowie doing Dancin’ in the Street :)

Jagger & Bowie look like they’re about to kiss in the Dancing video, when they start doing the face-to-face singing.

I do prefer the original version, which was first released as a single to coincide with the 1969 Apollo moon landings…

They do indeed, which is why it’s an “extra special treat”:)
