Julian posts a well-written reminder to all of us who write or at least aspire to.

That last construction “or at least…” is one of my crutches and I’m guilty of many others in the thankfully brief list, as anyone who reads this blog regularly can attest.

You use the word “the” too much.

eff that noise, that’s bullsh. you can say “or at least” as oft as you want. obviously, i’m more interested in your point rather than your prose. that being the case, it would go precisely unnoticed by this reader if you sat at your terminal for 20 minutes trying to think of a clever way to say “or at least.”

ps: “bullsh” is my new word. feel free to run with it.

I just realized that one of my crutches is wrapping up a blog entry with the obvious, “…so, to get to my point…” Eh. *shrugging shoulders*
